Aletaster: release notes
Each version, newest first.
0.8.6
It carries the Steward's kit 2.36.1: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.36.1: GenieX 0.8.0 is the NPU's server on a Snapdragon.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual. This kit comes after 2.36.0; 2.33.0 (Steward 0.19.4) is still to be released and doesn't depend on it.
0.8.5
It carries the Steward's kit 2.35.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.35.0: A release of an agent Castellan sells goes to the Exchequer, and no longer to the public releases repository.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual. Agents for sale stop appearing in the public releases repository once the Exchequer 0.6.0 is deployed with its migration applied. Until then, releases go there as before.
0.8.4
It carries the Steward's kit 2.34.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.34.0: An agent's rounds never stop silently.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual. This kit comes after 2.33.0 (Steward 0.19.4); if 2.33.0 isn't released yet, release it first.
0.8.3
It carries the Steward's kit 2.32.1: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.32.1: The kit names the app the person bought: Castellan.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.8.2
It carries the Steward's kit 2.32.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.32.0: A release goes to the agent's own repository, and to a releases repository only where one is named.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.8.1
It carries the Steward's kit 2.30.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.30.0: A release is published to the Exchequer, Castellan's release service, as well as to GitHub.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.8.0
It tastes your own releases: the repositories Reeve finds on this PC, each one you pick with a click.
What's new
- Your repositories: Reeve finds the git repositories on this PC, and each one on GitHub with a version tag is offered on the page. Press Taste it and the next tasting checks its releases the same way as every project: versions agree, merged pull requests have their changelog lines, the CI is green. Stop tasting stops. Its version is read from the package file beside its lockfile (package.json, Cargo.toml, pyproject.toml) or a .NET Directory.Build.props, else from its tags, and its CHANGELOG.md when it has one.
- git and gh: the page's first card, and the tour's first step, say whether git and the GitHub CLI are installed and gh is signed in, and what to do when not: install git and the GitHub CLI from the links it gives, then sign in to GitHub with gh.
What changed
- A new settings file no longer tastes the manor's own agents: The manor's agents is under Advanced, and off.
- The page no longer says "only the manor's agents are tasted", and no longer lists a note for each agent whose repository isn't on this PC.
- The manor's work queue is offered under Work orders only where the Wright is installed (or already chosen), and an order waiting for it no longer says to hire the Wright.
Before you update
- Nothing to do: a settings file from before 0.8.0 is migrated the first time it's read. It keeps every project and setting it had, and tastes the manor's agents as before (now written out in the file). Your repositories are offered, and none is tasted until you press Taste it.
- Your repositories are offered only with Reeve installed.
0.7.2
It carries the Steward's kit 2.29.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.29.0: Every agent's page fits a phone: the title bar's action and wide tables no longer push the page sideways.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.7.1
It names no folders of one particular PC.
What changed
- Its entry for Manor (manor-agent.json) no longer names a Node in a folder only one PC has: it runs on Manor's own Node, or one installed in the usual place.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.6.5
It carries the Steward's kit 2.28.1: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.28.1: Security fix: a value with curly quotes in it could break out of a PowerShell string.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.6.4
Its page puts what failed first, and folds what passed.
What changed
- The projects that failed or warned come first, with their checks open. A project that passed shows one line for its checks ("5 pass · 2 not checked"), and opens to each check as before.
- Resolved this week is folded under its count, as a list, instead of one long paragraph.
- With two projects needing a look and twenty that passed, the page is less than half as long.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.6.3
It carries the Steward's kit 2.28.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.28.0: Required settings: an agent that can't work without something from you waits for it, and onboarding asks for it.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.6.2
It carries the Steward's kit 2.27.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.27.0: An accelerator's name is what the PC calls it, never a setting.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.6.1
The shorter Settings page and the tour of 0.6.0, released.
What changed
- 0.6.0 couldn't be released under its own number, so this release brings it: the short Settings page with Advanced, the work queue's page from Manor, the manor's page frame and the tour (see 0.6.0 below). Nothing else changed.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual. Your settings are kept, and how often it tastes and its model calls carry over. A work queue page you set before is no longer read: Manor's is used.
0.6.0
A shorter Settings page, and a tour for new hires.
What's new
- A tour. When Manor hires the Aletaster it offers its tour: what it does, the three settings only you choose, then its page, section by section. Open it again any time at
#/tour. - The manor's page frame. The title bar, on and off duty, the theme and Back to Manor are the same as on every agent's page, and Run now is in the title bar.
What changed
- Settings is short. It shows your projects, the manor's agents and whether warnings hold a release. How often it tastes, the model calls, the projects folder, the clones and the work orders are under Advanced.
- The work queue's page comes from Manor: it's the Wright's, wherever Manor says it is, so it's no longer a setting.
- The page's projects-at-a-glance table is now Your projects, after the project cards.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual. Your settings are kept, and how often it tastes and its model calls carry over. A work queue page you set before is no longer read: Manor's is used.
0.5.31
Without the Wright on this PC, work orders say plainly that they wait for you.
What changed
- When Work orders are set to the manor's work queue and the Wright isn't installed on this PC, each order now says "the Wright isn't on this PC, so this order waits for a person: fix it yourself, or hire the Wright in Manor". Before, it said "the work queue doesn't answer", as if something were broken. Nothing is filed on GitHub, and the Aletaster stops checking for the Wright's page until the Wright is installed again.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual. With the Wright installed, nothing changes.
0.5.30
It carries the Steward's kit 2.26.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.26.0: The kit names no one's GitHub account, private repository or folder.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.5.29
Ready for the Steward's kit 2.26.0, which stops guessing that an old draft came from the NPU.
What changed
- A changelog draft kept from before Aletaster 0.3.0 doesn't record where it was written. With the kit 2.26.0 it is labelled "note from a local model, unverified" instead of "note from the NPU, unverified", since it may have come from a graphics card. Drafts written since 0.3.0 still name their accelerator.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.5.27
No folder of someone else's PC is built in: an agent nobody has a clone of is cloned into the Aletaster's own folder.
What changed
- Projects folder (Settings, the manor's agents) starts empty. Empty means the Aletaster's own clones folder, in its data folder, instead of a fixed folder on the C: drive. A folder you choose is kept and used as before.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual. A projects folder already in your settings stays as it is.
0.5.26
It starts with no projects but the manor's agents, instead of someone else's.
What changed
- Projects in Settings starts empty. It used to start with three projects that belong to one person and live in their folders. The manor's agents are tasted as before.
- With no projects of your own, the page says so and how to add one: under Projects in Settings, Add project, then its name, its clone, its GitHub repository and where its version is.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual. The projects already in your settings are kept as they are.
0.5.25
It carries the Steward's kit 2.19.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.19.0: Every release says what it brings: its notes are the agent's CHANGELOG.md entry for the version.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.5.24
It carries the Steward's kit 2.18.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.18.0: Non-employee projects: repositories that ride along with the manor.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.5.23
A hand-over stops after 20 minutes.
What changed
- Time for each, in Settings, starts at 20 minutes for each work order it hands to Claude Code. It was 45.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.5.22
It carries the Steward's kit 2.17.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.17.0: A release is built, never the readable source, and published in the public Jcollier0120/Manor-releases.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.5.21
It carries the Steward's kit 2.16.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.16.0: Every agent's page uses the width of the window.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.5.20
A check's title and badge columns fit their contents.
What changed
- Each project's checks line up in one grid: the title column is as wide as the longest title, the badge column fits the badges, and the details take the rest, so long titles no longer wrap. A narrow window lays them out as before.
- It has what it needs to build its releases with the Steward's next kits.
- This release brings 0.5.19 too, which was never released on its own.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.5.18
It carries the Steward's kit 2.15.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.15.0: Offline is waited out, never a failure.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.5.17
It carries the Steward's kit 2.14.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.14.0: The title bar stays at the top as the page scrolls.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.5.16
Manor finds the Aletaster on GitHub.
What's new
- Its release carries manor-agent.json, its entry and role as Manor knows them, so Manor 0.4.35 or later finds the Aletaster on GitHub.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.5.15
It carries the Steward's kit 2.13.0: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.13.0: The NPU first.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
0.5.14
It carries the Steward's kit 2.12.1: the parts every agent of the manor shares.
What changed
- The Steward's kit 2.12.1: A release zip's name has no spaces.
Before you update
- Nothing: it updates itself as usual.
