  • The Steward's kit 2.36.1: GenieX 0.8.0 is the NPU's server on a Snapdragon.

  • Nothing: it updates itself as usual. This kit comes after 2.36.0; 2.33.0 (Steward 0.19.4) is still to be released and doesn't depend on it.

What changed

  • The Steward's kit 2.35.0: A release of an agent Castellan sells goes to the Exchequer, and no longer to the public releases repository.

Before you update

  • Nothing: it updates itself as usual. Agents for sale stop appearing in the public releases repository once the Exchequer 0.6.0 is deployed with its migration applied. Until then, releases go there as before.

Before you update

  • The accelerators move from Reeve's config.json to %USERPROFILE%\.manor\accelerators\config.json the first time the Smith (or Reeve's keeper) reads them after updating: a copy, word for word, and Reeve's file is left as it was. Nothing to do.
  • On a PC whose NPU isn't set up yet, the Smith's or Manor's Set up now offers its maker's server and models (several GB) and asks first.

A security fix: Porter never reaches out to a network share for a path it was handed.

What changed

  • The notes it shares with the other agents are looked up only by a full path on a local drive (like C:\Program Files\App\app.exe). A network path, a device path, or one with .. or forward slashes in it is refused, and Porter doesn't look at the disk at all for a file it hasn't already seen.
  • A startup entry, scheduled task, service or other entry whose program is on a network share is still listed, marked "on a network share: not checked": Porter no longer opens, hashes or reads the signature of a file on another machine, since doing so makes Windows sign in to that machine as you. It's left for you to look at.

Its page is shorter: what code found OK is folded to a line each.

What changed

  • Under New since you last looked, the alerts and those to check are shown in full as before, and the ones code found OK (validly signed, or matching their publisher's hash) are folded under one OK heading, a line each, so they no longer bury what needs a look. Open one to see its facts, and acknowledge it there. With 20 to check and 71 OK, the page went from about 35,000 pixels tall to about 8,400.

What's new

  • A tour. When Manor hires the Porter it offers its tour: what it does, the folders it watches and what it watches, then its page. Open it again any time at #/tour.
  • The manor's page frame. The title bar, on and off duty, the theme and Back to Manor are the same as on every agent's page, and Run now is in the title bar.

What changed

  • Settings is short. It shows the folders it watches and what it watches. The subfolder depth and the round interval are under Advanced.
  • The round interval is now the manor's usual setting. Your old value is kept.

  • Porter is ready for the Steward's kit 2.26.0, which comes in the release after this one. With that kit, a note kept from before Porter 0.3.0, which doesn't say where it was written, is labelled "note from a local model, unverified" instead of being credited to the NPU: it may have come from a graphics card, and not every PC has an NPU. Notes that say where they were written are labelled as before.
  • This release also brings 0.4.32, which was never released on its own and changed nothing you would notice.

What's new

  • Other agents can now read the note Porter keeps on a file, so the Pinder asks Porter first instead of asking a model again, and the two describe the same program the same way.
  • Only notes on files that haven't changed since are offered, and private details are taken out of them on the way out.
  • The page's "How it decides" says other agents may read a note.
