The Farrier joins the gamers' household: a checkup of how your PC is set up for games.

What's new

  • Says when your memory runs below the speed it was sold at, because its XMP or EXPO profile is off in the BIOS, as most boards come, and gives the steps to turn it on.
  • Checks Game Mode, Xbox Game Bar's background recording, optimizations for windowed games, mouse acceleration (Enhance pointer precision) and the power plan, and sets each right in one press. Every change it makes can be undone.
  • Says when Power mode holds the PC back, when hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is off on a card that needs it for Frame Generation, and when Resizable BAR is off on an NVIDIA card that offers it, with the Windows page to open or the steps for the BIOS.
  • Explains Memory Integrity as the security trade-off it is, and opens Windows Security if you choose to turn it off. It never turns it off itself.
  • Finds your Steam, Epic and GOG games on a hard drive, and says how to move them to the SSD.
  • Leave it as it is keeps anything you're happy with from being suggested again.
