When the Scribe isn't working as it should

A screenshot isn't shown#

• It's new. It's taken in at the next look, every 30 minutes. Press Look now.
• Your capture app saves it elsewhere. Add that folder under Other screenshot folders, with a folder for each game inside it.
• It's a kind it doesn't take: only PNG, JPEG and WebP. An HDR screenshot's .jxr is left; its .png is taken.
• It's still being read: up to 150 a look, newest first. A big collection takes a few looks.

A screenshot is under the wrong game#

Its game comes from its name or its folder. Rename the file or its folder in Explorer to the game's name, and press Look now.

A Steam game shows as a number#

It isn't installed any more, so Steam's library can't name it. It's named again when you install it.

Search doesn't find a screenshot by its words#

• The words weren't read: a stylised font, small text, or a busy scene. Search by the game or the month instead.
• Read the words in screenshots is off in Settings.
• Try fewer letters: three letters find the words they start.

Its page won't open#

Its page is http://scribe.localhost:21717/. Open on its card in Castellan starts it if it's down, and Castellan checks every two minutes that it answers, and opens it again if it has stopped. Your screenshots stay where they are either way.
