When the Chronicler isn't working as it should
What to do when the Chronicler doesn't find a clip or a game, sorts a clip under the wrong game, refuses a copy, slows a game down, or its page won't open.

A clip isn't listed#
- It's new. A clip is listed once it hasn't changed for five minutes, at the next look, every 30 minutes. Press Look now.
- Your capture app saves it elsewhere: Steam's own recordings, Medal, Outplayed, or a folder you chose in the capture app. Add that folder under Other clip folders, with a folder for each game inside it.
- It's not a video it knows. Clips are MP4, MKV, MOV or WebM.
A clip is under the wrong game#
Its game is the name of its folder, or its own name without the capture app's date. Rename the clip or its folder in Explorer to the game's name, and press Look now.
A copy was refused#
The page says which check failed. Most often the copy wasn't under 90% of the clip's size: the clip was already well compressed, and there's nothing to save. Smaller files under Video quality may get one through.
HDR clips, clips under 10 MB, and clips with no picture are left as they are, with why.
A game ran slower while it made copies#
Making copies uses the processor or graphics card. Press Stop beside the copy being made, on its page, and make copies when you're not playing.
The Recycle Bin button refused#
The clip is on a drive with no Recycle Bin, the bin is turned off, or the clip is bigger than the bin. Windows would delete it for good. Delete it yourself if you're sure.
Its page won't open#
Its page is http://chronicler.localhost:21515/. Open on its card in Castellan starts it if it's down, and Castellan checks every two minutes that it answers, and opens it again if it has stopped.
