When the Surveyor isn't working as it should

It reports something that's fine for you#

OneDrive not running when you don't use it, say. Dismiss it: it leaves the counts and Castellan's Repairs while it lasts as it is. To stop a whole kind of check, turn it off under Checks in Settings. A finding is still there after you fixed it#

• Wait 5 minutes, or press Run now. Most findings are looked at again every 5 minutes; Windows Update and app updates wait for the next round.
• An agent's log errors last until they're older than a day. An error from before an update is shown as "probably fixed by the update".
• Windows Update is read as of Windows' last check. Open Settings > Windows Update, and press Check for updates.

It missed something#

• Its check is off under Checks.
• A log error doesn't say "error" or "failed", or the like. The Surveyor finds errors by their words.
• It's in a part of the PC it can't read without an administrator.

There's no daily report, or no plain-words notes#

The page says why, beside the model's line:

• "Busy: model work deferred to a later round": another agent was using the local AI. The Surveyor waits its turn, and asks again next round.
• The local AI isn't set up: see Set up the local AI. Every finding is still there, and the report is the facts.
• Plain-words notes is off in Settings, or Model calls per round (Advanced) is 0.

A report is written the first round after The daily report at (08:00).

It says an agent isn't answering#

Open on that agent's card in Castellan starts it. If it keeps stopping, the finding's evidence says why: send it to us.

Its page won't open#

Its page is http://surveyor.localhost:19595/. Open on its card in Castellan starts it if it's down, and Castellan checks every two minutes that it answers, and opens it again if it has stopped.
