When Envoy isn't working as it should

It shows no captions in a call#

• The program isn't on its list. Add it to Voice chat programs in Envoy's settings, under the name Windows shows for it.
• It's still setting up. The first time, Envoy gets what it needs to hear voice chat and readies its speech model. Its page shows how far along it is.
• Only the others are captioned. What you say isn't.

"Envoy's media host is missing" or "didn't start"#

The media host is the part of Envoy that hears voice chat. Update Envoy from Castellan to bring it back. Until then, Try a caption still shows how a line is translated. Envoy hears voice chat on 64-bit Windows only.

"It couldn't be translated"#

The local AI translates each line. Check it's running: see Set up the local AI. Turn Translate into your language off to see captions in the language spoken meanwhile.

The captions are in the wrong language#

Set Your language in Envoy's settings. By default it's the language Windows is set to.

The captions are slow#

Without an NPU, speech is turned into text on the processor, which is slower, above all while a game is busy with it.

The captions over my game are in the way#

Turn Show captions over your game off: captions then show on Envoy's page only.

Its page won't open#

Its page is http://envoy.localhost:22020/. Open on its card in Castellan starts it if it's down, and Castellan checks every two minutes that it answers, and opens it again if it has stopped.
